Becoming a Poverty Abolitionist

Participants are invited to join a zoom-based gathering of community advocates who share a vision of justice, peace and dignity for all Delawareans. The gathering will include reflections on systems that oppress and tether people in poverty as well as information about abolition work going on in Delaware and visions of what else needs to be done. Goals for the zoom gathering are to strengthen networks of community advocates, exchange resources, and inspire those who want to be more involved.

The work of Reverend Dr. William J. Barber II will be included among the reflections. A discussion of his recent book White Poverty: How Exposing Myths About Race and Class Can Reconstruct American Democracy will be the focus. This 5-minute interview with Rev.
