Workshop: Fundamentals of Strategic Nonviolence
Join us for a 90-minute interactive workshop on the foundations of strategic nonviolence—and how you can put these principles into practice to advance your own resistance efforts. Together, we will:
- Explore the core principles of nonviolent action;
- Review sample plans and 21st-century models; and
- Learn practical, safe, and effective ways to undermine authoritarianism nonviolently.
The session will be led by Drew Serres, founding facilitator of the Strategic Nonviolence Academy (launched Summer 2025 to prepare participants to lead “whole movements” for 21st-century nonviolent practitioners). For more than a decade, Drew has worked with—and learned from—nonviolent movements around the world, including:
- The International Center on Nonviolent Conflict;/strong>
- Srđa Popović, co-founder of Otpor! , which helped topple the Milošević regime in Serbia; and
- The Albert Einstein Institution, a pioneer in the study of nonviolent resistance.
Registration encouraged but not required—come ready to learn and engage.
